This week we’re taking a break to rest our achy remodeling bones 😂 Before we moved, I shared my outfits almost daily. Then house stuff kinda took over my life. But this week I’ve had fun dressing up a bit each day without worrying if I’m going to get paint all over me 😂 And because I’ve had so many questions about all the new clothes I’ve been buying to fit my much smaller frame, I’m sharing them over in my Like To Know It page. My favorite stitch is a double stitch, and if you need some yarn, tutorials or ideas to get started, @lionbrandyarn is an amazing small company. This is not sponsored (they don’t even know who I am) - but they are an incredible resource that is family owned and you can find tons of great things on their website. 🫶🏼 | The Shabby Creek Cottage

Hot glue in siciliane molds us one of my very favorite crafty magic tricks. It’s quick, it’s easy and the possibilities are endless! I’ve had a few questions on the lately, so I thought I’d do a quick FAQ. ✨Do yours come out with imperfections? Yes! That’s the magic of them… the perfect imperfections make them even more charming. ✨Can I use low temp? I’ve personally had much better luck with high temp because I have more time to use this little tool to work it into the books crannies. ✨Where can

🪶 What’s your quirky little obsession? Mine is feathers. 😍 I tuck them into every single junk journal I make. As well as all over my house simply because they bring me joy. These paper ones are such a relaxing project … and they use the cut off bits from zip ties (gotta use that trash and turn it into treasure!) | The Shabby Creek Cottage

After losing over 100 pounds, I can FINALLY find clothes at the thrift store and estate sales 🙌🏼 This was only a tiny portion of what I bought thrifting this week, but I did a live yesterday in my Instagram subscription showing my entire haul. Including things I bought from my neighbor and from a full day of estate sale shopping yesterday. Oh… and I broke a HUGE mirror - in the middle of my live 🫣 Yeah that was fun. Anyway… if you wanna see more, pop over to my profile on Instagram and hit th

I shared this in my stories yesterday and had lots of requests to make it a reel so it could be shared by others. Bad things happen in life, but how we process the crappy parts is what shapes our lives. And her bad thing wasn’t tragic - but it did make space for her to learn this simple lesson. This week has been a whirlwind… and I’m sorry it took so long to get part 2 of the butterflies up 🩵 We’re getting ready to list our house and try to figure out where in the LITERAL world we wanna live next. All we know is… not in the south 🫣 Anyways, I know you’ve got one of these “good magnetic” boxes tucked away somewhere. So this is your sign to dig it out, cover it with pretty book pages and turn it into a cute gift or treasure box. 💕💕💕 Anyone wanna guess where we’re gonna end up? Becau

Just a reminder that whimsy wonder aren’t bought. They’re collected, handmade and created from the soul. This year has been so hard on all of us. So I added more magic into my guest room so my sweet friends who visit this winter have a soft space to rest their heads and refill their souls. Sometimes I feel like Frances in Under the Tuscan Sun…. We bought this huge house. And there are only two of us. But luckily my circle of friends find their way here often - and this place has been a beautiful

When you were young, what did you want to be when you grew up? As long as I can remember, I just wanted to be a creator. An artist, a writer, a creative. But at about 8 years old, it became my true dream. My parents always thought I was too much of a dreamer. And honestly, I was. I still am. But if I could go back and tell that little 8 year old girl that: - those who are crazy enough to truly believe their dreams are the only ones who will make it - the blind passion and drive to create things

Fess up… are you a notebook hoarder? ‘Cause… me, too! Gimme a pen and paper over any other method any day of the week. Ripping up as many books as I do, I gotta lotta covers. So when I saw some cute journals at a shop recently it gave me an idea to make these. I made some with regular paper but others with watercolor paper for custom art journals. 🙌🏼 And there’s a full, in depth video on my YouTube channel complete with the supply list if you wanna make them, too! Sour dough starter from scratch - day 7 (morning). Yesterday we had lift off, so hopefully we’ll see a bigger rise today 🤞🏼 PATIENCE is required for sour dough. Both in the starter and in making loaves. So this is another example of “Calm your ass down!” 😘 | The Shabby Creek Cottage
